Trading commodities vs equities............?

I think if you're planning on trend-following trading, I think that many "commodities" are much easier than equities. However, I think that it's not so much typical commodities (e.g. look at pork bellies and tell me if you think trend following will work there), but financial futures and forex that trend better than both equities and commodities. Most CTA's operate systems that are pretty much trend following and make good coin doing it. There are about 20 things to do right, but they are all simple. Trends can last weeks or months and can be discerned with really easy indicators. Take almost any financial future for example and buy on 24 week highs and sell on 9 week lows
