Can you write to companies for scholarships?
Yes, of course you can write a letter to your favorite company. People do it all of the time and receive free coupons and free products. You need to keep your letter to one page. You need to tell them why you like their product and be sincere or they'll know it. Be creative. If you can find a link between your favorite company or product with your goals, major, education, that will go a long way with the company. That would be a bonus. Companies don't want you to ask for money right up front so don't talk about that first. However, companies don't have a lot of time so be specific in your request. They don't have time to figure out what it is you want. If you're not a good writer, then you should go to the library, buy some writing books, check out the web, ask friends, etc. to help you.You only get one shot. You may also want to check out the companies website before writing the letter. They may already offer a scholarship program. If you omit this step and they do have one, they may wonder how much you really know about them. I think it's a good idea.
